If I had a website for my classroom I would want it to family and child friendly. On this site I could post upcoming events that we would be having, homework assignments, newsletters, contact information, etc. These would be things that would be helpful to the families so that they could see what their child was working on or will be doing in the upcoming weeks. Useful links for the families would also be provided. A link to our district page would provide them with easy access to all the information that our district provides.
For my students, I would create a section just for them. This would be filled with pictures of their classmates, work that they have done, and links to sites that we have visited or played on. This is a way that the children can show their parents the things they have done in the classroom.
I think that having a website would be a fun way to relay information to the families and also give the children a chance to see their work on the computer other than just on paper. This provides the opportunity for the children to explain their work the way they created it instead of just an interpretation from the teacher.
