I think that our district website is done very well. I am not sure who updates our site or if they use a CMS or not. So at the district level, I think we have a nice start.

Improvement is definitely needed at the school level. Our school does not have a website along with many other schools. It would be great to have one to showcase our school and all of the things that go on there. There could be certain people in each school who would be willing to create pages to document what is going on in the classrooms. It would be ideal that each teacher had their own page and could either update it on their own or have someone do it for them. Maybe training could be provided for those interested. Weekly updates would be recommended to keep the families informed about what is going on in their child's education. I think that by having classroom pages, it would be more beneficial for the families so that they can focus on just one teacher as opposed to having to look at the whole schools information.

Then after a website is created it could be easily linked from the district page under the parent tab so that families can access their child's school or teacher's page with ease. Having a website that is easily manageable for families is very important so that they can get to where they need to go and get needed information in a timely fashion.
