This week in class I enjoyed looking at the different types of wikis on the web at my grade level. There were a few that we found that incorporated different learning games that our students could use in the classroom. I think that it is nice to have a wiki that had links to all the games on one page so that our students could click where they wanted to go. Even better, there were pictures next to the links which is wonderful for kindergarten children since at this point in the year are unable to read.
The other site that I liked very much is actually a site for our new reading series. It broke the kindergarten curriculum down into the different themes and had links to material for the students to work on and games to play. I did not spent too much time on this site since I found it close to the end of class but I plan on returning to it to learn more about what is available to my students.
Looking through the wikis is giving me ideas as to what I would want to have on my wiki page if that is what I choose to create for this class.
I find it interesting that you post the question then reply to yourself - that said, please feel free to share the link you found interesting, others may wish to look at it too.
Wikis and/or Blogs with pictures would certainly engage the K learner.
