I will be going into my 4th year of teaching in the fall and during my 2nd year I assumed the role as Team Leader for my kindergarten team. This consisted of meeting twice a month with our principal and the other team leaders to discuss information about what was happening in the school and a chance to bring questions or concerns to the whole group. Then it was my responsibility to bring this information back to my team and fill them in on information learned. I lead weekly meetings where we discussed different information gathered from these team leader meetings or where we brainstormed and finalized plans going on within our kindergarten classrooms. Then as a team we decided that each year a different member of the team would assume the leadership role so that everyone had the same opportunity and experience. I do feel that we have a good kindergarten team and everyone assumes a leadership role at different times even if they are not the actual team leader that year.
As for leadership in technology, since I have begun this masters program I have had colleagues ask me questions about different programs, ask for help with problems and have been asked to look over and give help/ideas on different projects. I think that by knowing I am doing my masters in technology my colleagues feel comfortable enough to ask me questions or for help when they are experiencing technological problems.
Right now I feel very comfortable with the leadership roles I have assumed during my first 3 years of teaching. I am not ready to move much beyond that or outside of the classroom but I am not saying that I would not take on more leadership roles further along in my career.

Many good thoughts about leadership and how the roles evolve and change as circumstances change.
